Description

These no-bake peanut butter treats are a simple and delicious way to enjoy the classic combination of chocolate and peanut butter without turning on the oven.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 100g (3.5oz) butter, melted
  • 100g (3.5oz) icing (powdered) sugar
  • 100g (3.5oz) peanut butter
  • 100g (3.5oz) milk chocolate
  • Optional: 100g (3.5oz) dark chocolate for a more adult version

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat or in the microwave until fully melted.
  2. Roughly line a small square or rectangular baking tin with baking or parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the icing sugar, peanut butter, and half (50g / 1.7oz) of the melted butter. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  4. Spread the peanut butter mixture evenly into the prepared baking tin, pressing down with a spatula to create a smooth surface.
  5. Melt the milk chocolate (or dark chocolate for a more adult version) in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave in short bursts, stirring until smooth.
  6. Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer, spreading evenly with a spatula.
  7. Refrigerate the tin for at least 1 hour or until the chocolate is set and firm.
  8. Once set, remove from the tin and cut into 16 squares. Serve chilled.

Notes

For a more sophisticated flavor, use dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. These treats can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. If you prefer a sweeter treat, increase the amount of icing sugar slightly.
