Description

This hot apple cider is a comforting and fragrant drink, perfect for warming up on a cold winter’s day with its blend of apple juice and warming spices.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups apple juice
  • 2 cloves
  • 2-inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp brown sugar or honey
  • 2 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the apple juice, cloves, and cinnamon stick. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the spices to infuse the juice.
  3. Strain the hot cider to remove the cloves and cinnamon stick.
  4. Add the lemon juice and brown sugar or honey to the strained cider. Stir well to combine.
  5. Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy the comforting warmth.

Notes

If using packaged apple juice, choose one without artificial flavors and sweeteners. For an alcoholic version, add a tablespoon of brandy. This drink is best served hot and can be a delightful treat during the holiday season.
