Description

These festive holiday cut-out cookies are soft, buttery, and perfect for decorating with your favorite icing and sprinkles.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the sugar and beat until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  5. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  8. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
