Scale
- 1 cup (150 g) frozen green garbanzo beans
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 1/2 tbsp tahini paste
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) water, plus more if required
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Place the frozen green garbanzo beans in a microwave-safe bowl and steam in the microwave for 2 minutes until they are tender.
- In a food processor, combine the steamed garbanzo beans, garlic, tahini paste, extra virgin olive oil, water, salt, and lemon juice.
- Process the mixture until smooth and creamy. If the hummus is too thick, add more water, a little at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lemon juice if needed.
- Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and serve with pita or tortilla chips.
Notes
- For a smoother texture, you can peel the garbanzo beans after steaming.
- Store any leftover hummus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Adjust the garlic and lemon juice to taste for a more personalized flavor.
