Description

For your next gathering, make this deliciously buttery and super easy seafood spread served atop crusty bread.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz shrimp (cleaned and deveined, approximately 10 jumbo shrimp)
  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
  • 1 small garlic clove (finely grated)
  • 1 6oz can lump crab meat (drained)
  • 2 tablespoons parsley leaves (finely chopped)
  • Optional: Pinch of red pepper flakes (to taste)
  • 1 baguette

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Start by setting your oven to 425°F to preheat.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp: In a mixing bowl, season the shrimp with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the shrimp. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side or until they turn opaque and are fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and let them cool.
  3. Shrimp Chopping: Once cooled, chop the shrimp into small bite-sized pieces.
  4. Prepare the Spread:
    • Soften the Cream Cheese: In a large microwave-safe bowl, microwave the cream cheese for about 40 seconds or until it’s softened but not entirely melted.
    • Mix the Ingredients: To the softened cream cheese, add the grated Parmesan, drained crab meat, finely grated garlic, chopped parsley, and a pinch of red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until combined.
    • Add the Shrimp: Fold in the chopped shrimp into the mix, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  5. Prepare the Baguette: Slice your baguette into 3/4-inch thick slices.
  6. Assemble the Crostini: Generously top each baguette slice with about 1-2 tablespoons of the seafood spread. The exact amount will depend on the size of your slices.
  7. Bake: Place the assembled crostini on a baking tray. Bake in your preheated oven for 4-5 minutes, or until the baguette slices are toasted golden and the seafood spread is bubbly and slightly browned.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, sprinkle some more chopped parsley on top for added color. Serve warm and enjoy.
