  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 buns 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 1 cup warm whole milk
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt

Filling

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp water (as needed)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast and honey. Let sit for 5 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
  2. Add in the eggs and melted butter, and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and knead until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, and cinnamon.
  7. Roll the dough out into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Brush the melted butter over the dough and sprinkle the sugar mixture on top.
  8. Roll the dough tightly, starting from the long side, and cut into 12 equal slices.
  9. Place the buns in the prepared baking pan and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. In a small bowl, mix together the powdered sugar, honey, and water to make the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the warm buns.
  12. Serve warm and enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea.

Notes

Note: These buns are best served warm and fresh, but they can also be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
