Scale
- 1 1/4 cups (300 ml) dark chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups (480 ml) pretzels
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 cup (240 ml) candied almonds, finely chopped
Instructions
- Transfer the chopped candied almonds to a bowl and set aside.
- Prepare a double boiler by placing a heatproof bowl over a saucepan filled with about 1/4 inch of water. Ensure the water does not touch the bottom of the bowl.
- Fill the bowl with 1 1/4 cups of dark chocolate chips and 3/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir occasionally until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Once melted, add 1 tsp of cayenne pepper to the chocolate and stir until fully incorporated.
- Dip each pretzel into the cayenne chocolate mixture, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
- Place the chocolate-covered pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle the finely chopped candied almonds over the chocolate-coated pretzels while the chocolate is still wet.
- Allow the pretzels to set at room temperature or refrigerate until the chocolate is firm.
Notes
- Store the pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
- You can substitute regular almonds if candied almonds are not available, but the sweetness will be reduced.
- Adjust the amount of cayenne to suit your spice preference.
