Description

Sweet and savory grilled chicken
Made with applesauce and BBQ sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 Chicken Breast
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cups (60 ml) North Coast Applesauce
  • 1/4 cups (60 ml) Barbeque sauce
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg Powder

Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken breast and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. Cut the chicken breast horizontally into thin slices.
  3. Sprinkle with ground pepper.
  4. Heat olive oil in a grill pan.
  5. Brown the chicken breast on both sides in the hot pan.
  6. Mix applesauce, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, and nutmeg powder in a bowl.
  7. Pour the mixture over the browned chicken breast and cook for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with sautéed vegetables.

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the applesauce mixture for at least 30 minutes before grilling.
  • If you don’t have a grill pan, you can cook the chicken in a regular skillet over medium-high heat.
