Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Gran Marnier float and why is it added last?

The float is ¼ oz of Gran Marnier poured on top after the shaken-and-strained cocktail is already in the glass, rather than mixed in with the other ingredients. Floating it on top keeps it as a concentrated layer of orange liqueur that hits the palate first on each sip.

Who is this cocktail named after?

According to the recipe’s description, the Rita-Rita is named after Rita Cote, owner of the Tanque Verde Ranch in Tucson, AZ.
