Celebrating spring this year with a new family, I have been delightfully initiated into their traditions. A Gin Fizz is their way to start the morning and I can’t complain. With a hint of nutmeg to spice up this creamy cold refreshment, it is like a spring time egg nog. An IBA official Gin Fizz uses gin (of course), fresh lemon juice, soda water, and gomme syrup. Our Gin Fizz gets creamier with Haagan-Dazs Vanilla ice cream, equal parts orange juice to set the morning right, nutmeg to spice it up, and sprite to give it the sweet fizz it needs. The classics are a great place to start but where this family has taken this drink is a whole new dimension of deliciousness.
