Almond milk and cacao powder create a delicious dessert-like drink that is filling enough for a breakfast on the go.
It’s unbelievable that we associate eating chocolate with something forbidden and naughty. Actually, this is just a misunderstanding of the difference between a standard candy bar you and chocolate (cacao) in its natural form.
Chocolate, otherwise known as cacao, is actually a superfood, which is full of anti-oxidants and therefore is good for you!
When I made this discovery, I was elated. Chocolate was always my one weakness.
My chocolate addiction still prevails today, however, I get my daily dosage through a natural source of chocolate. I regularly make chocolate smoothies and am always stocked up with a large jar of cacao powder!
Cacao powder will of course be more bitter, but there are natural sweeteners like medjool dates, raw honey, coconut sugar, stevia and maple syrup that cut through the bitterness and create a sweetly satisfying chocolate drink.
I highly recommend going for the natural stuff – your hips will thank you!
