Matcha green tea is one of my favorites and I started substituting my cup of coffee with a cup of matcha latte. It’s a far healthier version, packed with antioxidants. Since I’ve recently refreshed my green tea collection with some matcha powder, I decided to put some into a dessert. This is a fun and simple sweet made of green tea and white chocolate and it pairs perfectly with a cup of matcha latte. It was inspired by this lovely recipe.

Frequently Asked Questions
What grade of matcha should I use for these chocolates?
Culinary grade matcha works well here since it’s being mixed with chocolate. Ceremonial grade is more expensive and its subtle flavors would be masked by the chocolate and sugar.
How do I prevent the chocolate from seizing when I add the matcha?
Sift the matcha powder and fold it gently into the melted chocolate while it’s still warm but not hot. Make sure no water or steam gets into the chocolate, as even a small amount of moisture causes seizing.
How should I store matcha green tea chocolates?
Keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Let them sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes before eating so the texture and flavor come through fully.
