Chocolate Avocado Mousse is nothing new, in fact it’s been sweeping across the food world for quite a while now. It was new to me however. I was looking for something special, easy and quick to make for a gathering. I’m still in renovation world and haven’t a clue as to where half my kitchen stuff is. I do however have a food processor, a pot, a couple of avocados and some really great chocolate, which is just about all that’s needed for this recipe.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the mousse actually taste like avocado?
When blended with enough cocoa powder and a sweetener, the avocado flavor mostly fades into the background. Using ripe avocados and chilling the mousse for at least an hour helps mellow any green taste.
What kind of cocoa powder should I use?
Dutch-process cocoa gives a smoother, less acidic flavor, but natural cocoa works too. Use a good quality cocoa since it carries most of the flavor in this recipe.
How long does chocolate avocado mousse keep?
Store it covered in the fridge for up to 2 days. Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to slow browning from the avocado.
