Frequently Asked Questions
How long should I marinate the Indian spiced chicken drumsticks?
For the spices to penetrate the meat properly, marinate the drumsticks for at least 2 hours. Overnight in the refrigerator gives the best results, letting the yogurt and spice mixture tenderize the chicken fully.
Why do you score the drumsticks before marinating?
Cutting shallow slashes into the meat allows the spice marinade to reach deeper than just the surface. This means every bite has flavor, not just the outer layer.
What temperature should I bake Indian spiced drumsticks at?
A high oven temperature, around 400 to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, helps the outside develop color and light charring while keeping the inside juicy. Turning them halfway through ensures even cooking on all sides.
