This mac and cheese pizza sits on a garlic-loaded crust and will make all of your carb dreams come true.

This Mac and Cheese Pizza with Garlic Bread Crust is just about the epitome of carb heaven! I took the classic idea from Cici’s pizza and just made it, well… good. I can’t ever resist a slice when I go but I always feel like it’s missing something. Apparently, that something was garlic bread because this homemade version is like, all I’ve ever wanted in life. Let’s make it!

It sounds like it would be complicated, but thanks to some store-bought staples, this mac and cheese pizza is really no harder than making any other pizza at home! I got my trusty ready-made pizza dough at the Tom Thumb deli, a couple of boxes of Annie’s mac and cheese, and some sharp cheddar just for good measure. And that’s really all you need! For the garlic bread component, you use some olive oil and garlic powder, and you can add a bit of parsley if you’re feeling extra fancy. There really is nothing better than cheesy, gooey pasta on top of garlicky bread. AMAZING.

Description

Garlic-infused crust topped with creamy mac and cheese and extra cheddar. Pure carb comfort!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lbs (454 g) pizza dough
  • 2 boxes cheddar mac and cheese
  • milk and butter called for on mac and cheese box
  • 2 cups (473 ml) shredded sharp cheddar
  • 2-3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp parsley
  • 1-2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mac and cheese. Prepare noodles according to package directions, using slightly more milk for a runnier sauce.
  2. Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C).
  3. Spread a small amount of olive oil on a pizza pan and place the pizza dough on top.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the remaining olive oil with parsley, garlic powder, and salt. Brush evenly onto the dough.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes, then remove.
  6. Spoon the mac and cheese onto the crust and top with additional shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for 10 more minutes, or until the crust is crisp and golden brown, and the cheese is bubbling. Broil for 1-2 minutes for a crispier cheese crust.
  8. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use freshly grated cheddar cheese instead of pre-shredded.
  • To prevent a soggy crust, pre-bake the dough for 5-7 minutes before adding the mac and cheese.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
