For anyone hosting a holiday gathering, Santa granted your wish a few days early. Courtesy of the iconic five-star Hotel Hassler Roma here are three holiday cocktails that are both simple to make and will wow the crowd.
Hotel Hassler, an icon of the capital for its luxuriant hospitality for more than a century, stands proud just a few meters from the Church of the Trinità dei Monti on top of the Spanish Steps. It has recently renovated and it still maintains its high standard of quality and affluence in perfect balance with its historical past, present and future.
And they’re pretty damn good at cocktails too, so we asked them to create a couple of magical holiday cocktails for the Honest Cooking readers.
First: The Christmas Vodka Cooler adds color and vibrancy to your celebrations this Christmas with a refreshing cocktail.
Second: The Spritz Skiwasser (literally “ski-water), is a holiday cocktail that’s festive, light and refreshing.
Third: The Bailey’s Espresso Martini, is rich, creamy and decadent. Perhaps the ultimate holiday cocktail.

Christmas Vodka Cooler
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz vodka
- ¾ oz apple syrup
- ½ oz fresh lemon syrup
- 1 vanilla pod
- 3 fresh raspberries
- 2 cloves
- 2 thin slices of red apple
- 1 mint sprig
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a medium Tumbler glass and mix gently to combine

Spritz Skiwasser
Ingredients
- 2 oz Prosecco
- ¾ oz raspberry syrup
- ¾ oz fresh lemon syrup
Instructions
- Pour all ingredients directly into a glass filled with ice
- Garnish with a fresh raspberry and a lemon twist

Bailey's Espresso Martini
Ingredients
- 1/3 oz Vodka
- ½ oz Kahlua
- ¾ oz Baileys Irish Cream
- 1 1/3 oz caffè espresso
Instructions
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and mix them with an immersion blender.
- Blend until smooth. Pour into a chocolate rimmed martini glass.
