Delicious Side Dish – Baked Cauliflower

Tamara Novacoviç with a really simple, but delicious, idea for vegetable side dish.

I usually eat cauliflower or broccoli simply cooked in salted water and drizzled with olive oil. I so often find simple recipes to be the best, especially when I’m dealing with ingredients I really like. This time I put everything onto a baking sheet, drizzled with olive oil, salt and pepper. I added garlic cloves because garlic has the most beautiful flavor when baked.

Description

A simple and delicious baked cauliflower dish, enhanced with the rich flavor of roasted garlic and optional chili flakes for a hint of heat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head of cauliflower, washed, trimmed, cored, and thinly sliced
  • Olive oil, for drizzling
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Chili pepper flakes, to sprinkle (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Place the prepared cauliflower slices onto the baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Add the peeled garlic cloves to the baking sheet.
  5. Sprinkle the cauliflower with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Drizzle generously with olive oil, ensuring all pieces are lightly coated.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the cauliflower is tender and starting to brown.
  8. Optional: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and chili pepper flakes before serving.
  9. Serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

For a spicier dish, add more chili pepper flakes. This dish is best served warm, but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results. Experiment with adding other herbs like thyme or rosemary for additional flavor.

  1. This sound so mouthwatering. I can’t wait to make it. I think it would be great if you would make it a non-veg and add some chicken. I have to try it. Thanks for the recipe.
