You do not need an extravagant espresso machine to get a cup of this rich and creamy magic. All you need is your ingredients, a coffee mug, and a spoon.
Coffee is India’s favourite beverage. A cup over a casual conversation with friends, or while you read your favourite novel, it never fails to relax you. At least for me, it’s rejuvenating. While India’s Southern part is famous for its Filter coffee, I make it the easy way.Indian Espresso Coffee, a rich, creamy and frothy coffee, which can actually be described as an amalgam of espresso and cappuccino. I say so because, I find it having the powerful essence and aroma of an espresso and at the same time it also has the velvet-y and creamy texture of a cappuccino. Long story short, it is luxury in a cup! And mind you, this can get mighty addictive.
You do not need an extravagant espresso machine to get a cup of this rich and creamy magic. All you need is your ingredients and a coffee mug with a spoon. Yes, that’s it. You have to vigorously beat the coffe and granulated sugar mix with a lot of energy to get a whipped coffe-sugar paste. Your rich, creamy and milky Indian Espresso Coffee will be ready in minutes.
So, grab the current novel you’re reading, or your Sudoku or Crossword and relish this heavenly beverage with every sip. Also, you might just be tempted to drink it while watching the rains from your bedroom window. Sounds addictive, doesn’t it?

Description
Indian Espresso Coffee made without an espresso machine.
Ingredients
- Instant Coffee Powder – 1 tbsp.
- Granulated Sugar – 2 tbsp. (alter according to your taste)

- Water – 1 tsp.
- Cocoa Powder – To sprinkle on top (optional)

Notes
To make more than 1 cup, prepare the coffee-sugar paste in a bowl. Divide the paste equally into each coffee mug and pour hot milk. Stir and serve.

I’m Aarav Gupta from India. It’s true “Coffee is India’s favorite beverage”. I’m also a coffee lover and believe that coffee is an important part of our meal. Indians usually drink 3-4 cups of coffee a day. Thank you for sharing the Indian Espresso Coffee recipe.
Do you have an instant coffee that you would recommend? Thanks!

Hello
I recently bought a espresso machine from India.
The ones they have at the weddings
Do you know how to operate the espresso
Thanks
I am a self-confessed coffee non-drinker. But I love coffee, mind you, for it’s aroma, color and whatever else makes it good. What else I love more about coffee is to make it for others, especially the pouring part when it gets all frothy. Thankfully, I have a husband who loves coffee and I can make all I want, for him!
I love the way you’ve described this – “having the powerful essence and aroma of an espresso and at the same time it also has the velvet-y and creamy texture of a cappuccino” – it sounds so inviting!
Thanks Sylvie :)
I’m a coffee addict, love it :) This looks lovely. I would add a bit of ground cardamom to it-for me it works great with coffee
