Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Baxter Family swap for nuts because of their peanut allergy?

The article notes that because the Baxter Family has a peanut allergy, they replace the 1 cup of mixed nuts with Cheez-Its, which keep the savory crunch of the original without the allergen.

Why does the recipe require stirring the mix every 2 minutes during microwaving?

The 5–6 minute microwave cook on High is done uncovered, and the butter-and-Worcestershire coating can scorch unevenly if left undisturbed. Stirring thoroughly every 2 minutes redistributes heat and ensures every piece toasts evenly without burning.
