Description

What is better than a grilled cheese? A double grilled cheese paired with a perfect glass of wine. Don’t forget a bottle of SIMI’s wine!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of sourdough bread
  • 8 slices of cheddar cheese (extra sharp)
  • 4 slices of fontina cheese
  • 8 Tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat broiler in oven.
  2. Melt butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat and then add slices of bread. Toast for about 1 minute then top with 1 slice of cheddar to each slice of bread.
  3. Continue to toast till the cheese is slightly melted. Adjust heat as needed to prevent burning the bread while cheese is melting.
  4. Sandwich each pair of bread slices with the cheese in the middle and then top with 1 slice of fontina cheese to each sandwich.
  5. Place under the broiler to melt the fontina till bubbly and slightly golden brown. Let rest for 30 seconds before eating!
  6. Enjoy with a glass of SIMI Sauvignon Blanc to round out your palate
