The Ettore Cabernet Sauvignon Signature 2019 is a wonderful expression of a classic California cabernet, and it is simply a “very good glass of wine”. And that’s exactly why it is a wine you should be drinking right now.
About the Winemaker:
Born in 1978 in Italy’s Lombardy region, Ettore Biraghi’s journey in winemaking began in Switzerland in 2005. By 2008, he co-founded Tenuta Agricola Luigina in Stabio, gaining recognition for their unique Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Viognier wines. Each vintage reflected Ettore’s commitment to nature and organic processes.
A 2015 visit to Mendocino’s Sanel Valley in California marked a turning point. Captivated by Hopland’s warm microclimate, where grapes naturally thrived, Ettore envisioned crafting pure, terroir-driven wines. His skill was internationally acknowledged in 2017 when he was titled “Rookie of the Year” by Gault & Millau.

Why?
While many of the Ettore wines are slightly off the beaten path, their Signature Cab is more familiar territory. And that’s not a bad thing at all – this is a glorious representation of Cali cabs, and I can’t get enough of it. Lucious, elegant, deep and just wonderful – sometimes you just want a really solid glass of wine, and this is it. I could drink this every day, and be very happy.
Hmm, maybe I should.
