You Should Be Drinking: Baldacci Carneros Chardonnay

The wine is smooth like lemon curd on warm brioche, oily like ripe pineapple just sliced on a marble counter in Capri – and you should be drinking it.

This is a wine that makes you feel like no one can touch you. Like you’re a master art-thief or something, celebrating your latest successful heist on a private island in the Mediterranean. It’s sunny, of course, but in that peachy color you’ll see on photos from Côte d’Azur, and you look incredibly satisfied with yourself. You’re definitely wearing white pants, and you probably have a vintage Riva waiting for you down by the dock. This wine? The glass doesn’t leave your hand.

The wine is smooth like lemon curd on warm brioche, oily like ripe pineapple just sliced on a marble counter in Capri. It’s big and bold in every direction. It even looks like gold. It’s not for the lover of the subtle, but for those of us who prey on excess—this is a wine you should be drinking.

About the Winemaker:

Tucked along Napa’s Silverado Trail, Baldacci Family Vineyards is everything you hope for in a Stags Leap estate—unpretentious, family-run, and laser-focused on what their land does best. The Baldacci story starts in 1998, when Thomas and Brenda Baldacci bought the original ranch property and planted roots, quite literally, in one of Napa’s most storied sub-appellations. Today, their son Michael leads the winemaking, crafting bold but polished wines that speak clearly of place.
