Frequently Asked Questions
Can I replace the sugar with honey in this lassi?
Yes — the recipe explicitly offers honey as a direct swap for sugar, and notes you can skip sweetener entirely if your mangoes are particularly sweet. The base recipe uses just 1 tsp of sugar.
What role does the cardamom play, and can I leave it out?
A pinch of cardamom powder is a signature spice in this northern Indian drink, adding a warm, floral note that balances the sweetness of the mango. It is listed as a recipe ingredient rather than optional, though the amount is small enough that omitting it changes flavor rather than structure.
