These tasty, stuffed Habanero peppers are a triple-spiced little appetizer, guaranteed to get your pulse raising and your sweat beading. A side of avocado cream calms the heat, and these little morsels will be perfect for your next grilling session.

Fair warning, this recipe is not for the faint of heart. There are triple layers of spiciness in these little pockets of goodness, which means that while spice-lovers can rejoice, spice-haters should probably pass on this one. Or, perhaps better – learn how to deal with a little spice, folks!

To make this fantastic little side dish, we’re filling habanero peppers with a mixture of sautéed ground turkey, onions, garlic, and chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. The peppers are first deseeded, then stuffed with a layer of shredded cheddar cheese and the turkey mixture. Before baking, the stuffed habaneros are brushed with olive oil and cooked in the oven until the peppers are tender. After baking, they are topped with a blend of mashed avocado and lime, then finished with a drizzle of sriracha sauce and a sprinkle of cilantro for additional flavor.

  1. Made these for a party and they were a hit! Will definitely make again. It’s spicy, but not to the degree that people were complaining – in fact, everyone loved these.

  2. I’m not gonna lie, I was a little nervous that this was going to be tooooooo hot, but honestly it wasn’t. Yes, there is heat, real heat, but the flavors are well balanced and while I did get a little sweat on my forehead it wasn’t more than I could handle. Really fun and delicious recipe!
