The Wine You Should Be Drinking:
Why?
When I first tasted the 2022 Chard from Meiomi, my mind instinctively wandered off to warmer days by the ocean. I pictured myself in my imaginary beach house, entertaining friends on the deck, downplaying my incredible (imaginary) success, while sipping on a glass of perfectly chilled pour of this lovely wine.
I’d probably be serving shrimp-cocktail, and not the frozen one from Kroger, but the fresh one from WholeFoods. Maybe some just-shucked Kumamoto oysters. People would laugh at my jokes and salute my awesomeness.
I imagine it would be a pretty good day.
About the Winemaker:
Meiomi Wines’ goal is to reflect the best of California’s earth and elements. Winemaker Jason Becker, despite an impressive background at top California wineries, approaches his role with a laidback and practical attitude. He selects the best cool-climate grapes, blending them to create wines with bold character and harmony. The result is a selection of wines that are ripe, rich, and full of expressive depth and taste.
Meiomi sources its grapes from the coastal vineyards of Sonoma, Monterey, and Santa Barbara. This allows the winery to take advantage of the varying characteristics of each area and create wines with a broad and balanced flavor profile.
I’m a big fan of California chardonnays, but I haven’t tried Meiomi before. Thanks for the tip!
