Description

A winning flavor combination that can be made in minutes using frozen bananas and without dairy, too. Enjoy with fresh fruit and chopped nuts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract(optional)

For the toppings:

  • Chopped hazelnuts
  • whipped cream(optional)
  • raspberries

Instructions

  1. Dice the ripe bananas, put them in a storage bag and freeze them from two hours to overnight if you want. You just want them really frozen. Take the bananas out of the freezer, and put them in a food processor, and press for couple of minutes until they are almost pulverized.
  2. Add the almond butter, press again, until it’s creamy. On the end,add the cocoa, the vanilla and the honey.Press for few seconds.
  3. Pour the ice cream in a air tight food container and let it in the freezer for maximum two hours. Voila! The ice cream is ready to be served!

Notes

*You can put any kind of toppings you want. I,personally prefer those. They give great balance, between the sweetness of the bananas, the crunch of hazelnuts and the tartness of the raspberries!
**You can also substitute the whipped cream with coconut cream. Freeze coconut milk overnight, open the can, disregard the liquid on top,or keep it for smoothies, whip it for a minute in a hand mixer and it’s ready!
***You can also freeze any kind of berries, and other fruits to make this ice cream.
