- 2 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 2/3 cup flax seeds
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a blender, combine 1/2 cup of the rolled oats and 1/3 cup of the flax seeds. Blend until they become a fine powder, which will help bind the granola together.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining oats, flax seeds, and sliced almonds. Stir in the powdered oat and flax mixture.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, honey, canola oil, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly until all the dry ingredients are evenly coated.
- Spread the granola mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the granola is golden brown and fragrant.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool completely on the baking sheet. The granola will crisp up as it cools.
- Once cooled, break the granola into clusters and store in an airtight container.
Notes
Store the granola in an airtight container to keep it fresh and crunchy. You can customize the recipe by adding dried fruits or other nuts. This granola makes a great topping for yogurt or ice cream and can be used in baked desserts like fruit crisps.
