- 2 1/2 cups (600 ml) rolled oats
- 2/3 cup (160 ml) flax seeds
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) sliced almonds
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) maple syrup
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) canola oil
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a blender, combine 1/2 cup of the rolled oats and 1/3 cup of the flax seeds. Blend until they become a fine powder, which will help bind the granola together.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining oats, flax seeds, and sliced almonds. Stir in the powdered oat and flax mixture.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, honey, canola oil, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly until all the dry ingredients are evenly coated.
- Spread the granola mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the granola is golden brown and fragrant.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool completely on the baking sheet. The granola will crisp up as it cools.
- Once cooled, break the granola into clusters and store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Store the granola in an airtight container to keep it fresh and crunchy.
- You can customize the recipe by adding dried fruits or other nuts.
- This granola makes a great topping for yogurt or ice cream and can be used in baked desserts like fruit crisps.
