- 1 whole pie crust
- 6 cups peeled and sliced apples
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup flour (for topping)
- 1 1/2 sticks butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup honey caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the peeled and sliced apples with the lemon juice, sugar, 4 tablespoons of flour, and salt. Mix well to coat the apples evenly. Set aside.
- For the crumb topping, in another bowl, cut the butter into 1/2 cup of flour using a pastry cutter or two forks until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the brown sugar, oats, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Place the pie crust in a pie dish and fill it with the apple mixture, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle the honey caramel sauce over the top before serving.
Notes
You can use store-bought pie crust to save time. The honey caramel sauce adds a rich flavor, so don’t skip it. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
