Description
A nutritious and flavorful stir-fry using radish greens, enhanced with garlic, onions, and a hint of spice from green chillies.
Ingredients
- Radish Greens - A small bunch, washed and finely chopped
- Onion - 1 large, finely chopped
- Garlic - 8 to 10 pods, chopped
- Green chilli - 2, chopped (adjust to taste)
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 1 to 2 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Urad Dal - 1 tsp
Instructions
- Wash the radish greens thoroughly and chop them finely.
- In a wok, kadai, or pan, heat 1 to 2 teaspoons of oil over medium heat.
- Once the oil is warm, add 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds and 1 teaspoon of urad dal. Allow them to crackle and splutter.
- Add the chopped garlic to the pan. Stir and cook until the garlic releases its aroma.
- Add the finely chopped onion and green chillies to the pan. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onions are soft and translucent.
- Stir in the chopped radish greens. Cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the greens are wilted and tender.
- Season with salt to taste and mix well.
- Serve hot as a side dish or with rice or roti.
Notes
Radish greens are often discarded but are packed with nutrients. This dish is a great way to utilize them. Adjust the green chillies to your spice preference. Serve with rice or roti for a complete meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
