Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Mini Hamburger Buns
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves
  • 0.5 small red onion, peeled and chopped
  • 1 lbs (454 g) Ground Turkey (or Chicken)
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 tbsp Tandoori masala powder
  • 1 tsp Crushed ginger
  • 1 tsp Crushed garlic
  • 0.25 cups (59 ml) Chopped mint
  • Salt
  • Oil, for grilling
  • 1 cups (237 ml) Greek yoghurt
  • 0.5 cups (118 ml) chopped mint
  • 1 small lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 0.25 tsp red chili or paprika (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Mint Raita

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, chopped mint, lemon juice, sugar, salt, ground cumin, and red chili or paprika (if using). Mix until well combined and all ingredients are evenly distributed. Place the bowl in the refrigerator to chill.

Prepare the Tandoori Patties

  1. In a food processor, blend the small onion until it turns into a paste. Transfer the onion paste to a large mixing bowl. Add the ground turkey (or chicken), Tandoori masala powder, crushed ginger, crushed garlic, chopped mint, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are well incorporated. Shape the mixture into round balls with your palms, then flatten them to create patties.

Cook the Patties

  1. Preheat a grill or griddle pan and brush it lightly with oil. Once hot, place the patties on the grill or pan. Cook each side until golden brown and fully cooked through. This should take a few minutes per side.

Assemble the Sliders

  1. Take the bottom half of a hamburger bun. Spread a generous amount of mint raita on it. Place a cooked Tandoori patty on top. Follow with a piece of lettuce, a slice of onion, and a slice of tomato. Cap it off with the top half of the bun. Repeat the assembly process with the remaining ingredients.
  2. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the turkey patties in the tandoori spice mixture for at least 30 minutes before grilling.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, finely chop the small onion by hand for the patties.
  • Leftover patties can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in a pan or microwave.
