- 1/4 lb (115 g) or 1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 1 tbsp strong coffee, cold
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- Coconut flakes, for rolling
Instructions
- In a large bowl or using a food processor, mix together the butter, sugar, and coffee until well combined and smooth.
- Add the rolled oats, vanilla extract or vanilla sugar, and cocoa powder to the mixture. Continue mixing until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and the butter is evenly distributed.
- Once the mixture is well blended, use your hands to shape it into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Roll each ball in coconut flakes until fully coated.
- Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for a firmer texture.
Notes
- These chocolate balls are a popular treat in Sweden, especially among children as they require no cooking.
- You can substitute the espresso with instant coffee if preferred.
