Description

Ready in 30 minutes, these flavorful lettuce wraps are packed with Asian-inspired tastes. A fun, fresh weeknight meal!


Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup onion (chopped)
  • 1.5 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 lbs (454 g) ground beef
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 fresh ginger (minced)
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/4 cup peanuts (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup cilantro (chopped)
  • Large iceberg lettuce leaves
  • chopped green onions (chopped peanuts, matchstick carrot sticks)

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet.
  2. Sauté onion for 3 minutes, adding garlic in the last minute.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until done. Drain fat.
  4. Return skillet to heat and stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and ginger. Cook until heated through, about 3 minutes.
  5. Remove skillet from heat and stir in remaining ingredients except for lettuce leaves and garnishes.
  6. Serve on lettuce leaves with garnishes on the side.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, marinate the ground beef in the soy sauce and ginger for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • To reduce the spiciness, use less sriracha or substitute with a milder chili garlic sauce.
  • These wraps are best served immediately, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
