Description

This sweet and spicy Sriracha honey chicken is a quick and flavorful dish, perfect for a speedy dinner with rice noodles and vegetables.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts, diced
  • 1/3 cup (40 g) cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) sesame oil
  • 1 cup (240 ml) water
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) sriracha
  • 5 tbsp (75 ml) soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) honey
  • 2 tbsp (15 g) cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) water
  • Vermicelli noodles, cooked according to package instructions
  • Assorted vegetables, such as bell peppers and broccoli, sliced
  • Optional: additional sriracha or red pepper flakes for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tbsp cornstarch and 1 tbsp water until dissolved. Set aside.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup water, sriracha, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sugar, and honey. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  3. Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced chicken breasts and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken in the skillet. Stir to coat the chicken evenly with the sauce.
  6. Add the cooked vermicelli noodles and sliced vegetables to the skillet. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with additional sriracha or red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust the sriracha and honey to your taste preference for more heat or sweetness.
  • Serve with rice if preferred over noodles.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave.
