Description

Rich and addictive with a glass of milk or ice cream, salted caramel butterscotch blondie bars with brown butter are a dessert to satisfy a sweet tooth.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cup (540 ml) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 2 cups (400 g) brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240 ml) butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) caramel sauce
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease 9×13″ pan with baking spray and set aside.
  3. In medium bowl combine flour, baking powder, and salt, and stir to combine. Set aside.
  4. In large bowl, beat together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  5. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until well combined.
  6. Add vanilla extract and beat until combined.
  7. Add flour mixture to butter and sugar mixture, beating until combined.
  8. Fold in butterscotch chips.
  9. Pour and spread evenly into prepared pan.
  10. Drizzle caramel sauce over batter and swirl with a knife.
  11. Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown and tester comes out clean.
  12. Sprinkle with sea salt.
  13. Let cool and then cut into bars.
