Description

A simple, spicy twist on a classic pasta dish. Comfort food at its best!


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 stalks spring onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 lbs (400 gr) pork sausages
  • 1 can peeled and chopped tomatoes
  • pinch chili flakes
  • pinch ground oregano
  • salted water
  • 1 lbs (400 gr) penne pasta
  • spring onion
  • parmesan

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan and saute the onion, garlic, spring onion, and carrot.
  2. Remove the meat from the sausages and brown the pork meat with the sauteed ingredients.
  3. Add the tin of tomatoes and spices, then simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente, drain, and combine the penne pasta with the pork bolognese.
  5. Serve with spring onion and parmesan.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use Italian sausage instead of regular pork sausage.
  • To make this dish vegetarian, substitute the pork sausage with crumbled plant-based sausage.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated gently.
