Description

Tangy Greek yogurt meets sweet peaches in this dreamy frozen treat. A touch of balsamic adds a surprising, sophisticated twist.

Ingredients

Units
  • 5 peaches
  • 1.5 cups (355 ml) raw or brown sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 qt (946 ml) full-fat plain Greek yogurt

Instructions

  1. Cut peaches into bite-sized chunks.
  2. Place the peaches in a glass or stainless bowl.
  3. Sprinkle with sugar and balsamic vinegar.
  4. Stir to combine.
  5. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Combine Greek yogurt with the peach mixture in a large bowl.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Pour into ice cream freezer and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  9. Eat immediately or within an hour for soft serve.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use ripe, but firm peaches. Overripe peaches can lead to a watery yogurt.
  • If you don’t have balsamic vinegar, a teaspoon of lemon juice or orange zest can add a similar tang.
  • Store leftover frozen yogurt in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
