Description

Deliciously sweet waffles with a tangy twist from mixed berries, perfect for a delightful breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 250g plain flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 3 free-range eggs, beaten
  • 425ml full-fat milk
  • 110g butter, melted
  • 30g cocoa powder
  • 4 tbsp frozen berries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the waffle iron to a medium setting.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
  3. Whisk in the eggs, milk, and melted butter until the batter is smooth and thoroughly combined.
  4. Gently fold in the frozen berries, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  5. Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron, filling it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  6. Cook the waffles for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crisp on the outside.
  7. Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use a waffle iron that heats evenly. Top the waffles with Nutella, peanut butter, or powdered sugar for added flavor. Fresh berries can be used instead of frozen if preferred. Store leftover waffles in an airtight container and reheat in a toaster for a quick breakfast.
