Description

A simple method for making your own sun-dried tomatoes at home. Perfect for adding intense flavor to your dishes.

Ingredients

  • Fresh cherry tomatoes
  • 1-2 tsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut cherry tomatoes in half.
  3. Toss tomatoes with 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil in a mixing bowl.
  4. Arrange tomatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 8-12 hours, or up to 14 hours, checking occasionally and removing any tomatoes that dry faster than others.

Notes

  • For even drying, ensure tomatoes are arranged in a single layer and not overcrowded.
  • Smaller cherry tomatoes will dry faster than larger ones; adjust baking time accordingly.
  • Store dried tomatoes in an airtight container with olive oil in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for longer storage.
