- 0.5 cups (118 ml) avocado
- 1 slice lime
- Salt
- Pepper
- 2 slices bread
- Butter
- 4-5 slices Gouda cheese
- Tomato slices
- Onion slices
Instructions
- Slice the avocados and dress them with lime juice, salt, and pepper.
- In a skillet over medium-low heat, butter each slice of bread and cook for 2 minutes per side, or until the butter is absorbed.
- Place cheese slices on both sides of the bread and warm until slightly melted; loosely cover the skillet to speed up the process.
- Spread avocado slices, tomatoes, and onions evenly on one side of the bread. Season with salt and pepper.
- Close the sandwich and grill for 7-10 minutes, or until the bread is browned and the cheese is melted.
- Transfer the sandwich to a plate and serve.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use a good quality, aged Gouda cheese.
- To prevent the bread from becoming soggy, avoid overcrowding the pan.
