Units
Scale
- 1.3 lb (600 gr) white fish filet (e.g., catfish, cod, tilapia)
- 1 tablespoon capers
- 3 spring onions, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 bread rolls
- Lettuce leaves
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon wasabi paste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Divide the fish filet in half. Place one half in a food processor and process until smooth.
- Chop the other half of the fish into small pieces.
- In a bowl, combine the processed fish, chopped fish, capers, spring onions, and a generous amount of salt and pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Form the mixture into four equal-sized patties.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the fish patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, wasabi paste, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Toast the bread rolls lightly, if desired.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each roll, followed by a fish patty. Top with a generous spoonful of wasabi and lemon mayonnaise, then place the top half of the roll on the burger.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your fresh and juicy fish burger.
Notes
For a spicier kick, increase the amount of wasabi paste in the mayonnaise. These burgers are best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet for best results. Substitute the white fish with salmon for a different flavor profile.
