Description

Red lentils make a vibrant vegetarian burger with just enough creamy cheese. Top with a greek yogurt and wasabi sauce for delicious spice.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 cups (960 ml) cooked lentils (I boiled 2 cups red lentils in 4 cups water for 25 minutes)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) grated Dill Flavored Haverti Cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 small onion finely chopped

Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp wasabi paste
  • 1 1/4 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl till well incorporated
  3. Coat a pan with olive oil and let heat up over a medium flame
  4. Form lentil-cheese mixture into burgers
  5. Cook on each side for 4 minutes -flipping gently
  6. Transfer to a foil lined baking tray and bake at 375 for 15 minutes

Sauce:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together and serve with warm Lentil & Cheese Burgers
