Description

Crispy potato chips made without oil in the microwave. A perfect snack or pantry-raid recipe.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large russet potato
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Peel the potato and use a mandolin or food processor to cut it into thin slices.
  2. Place the slices in a bowl of water to prevent browning.
  3. Place a piece of parchment paper on a glass plate.
  4. Spread the potato slices on the parchment in a single layer.
  5. Sprinkle with salt, if desired, and microwave on high for 3–7 minutes (depending on your microwave and the thickness of the slices).
  6. Cook until the slices are crisp and slightly golden.

Notes

  • For even cooking, ensure potato slices are of uniform thickness.
  • If your microwave has uneven heating, rotate the plate halfway through cooking.
  • Store leftover chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days; they will soften over time.
