Description
Chewy chocolate chip cookies get a decadent upgrade with a creamy dulce de leche center. Perfect for satisfying any sweet tooth!

- 1.5 sticks (3/4 cup, 177 ml) unsalted butter
- 3/4 cups (177 ml) light brown sugar
- 1/4 cups (59 ml) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups (473 ml) all purpose flour
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 cups (118 ml) semi sweet chocolate chips
- 0.5 cups (118 ml) chocolate chunks
- 0.25-0.5 cups (59-118 ml) dulce de leche
Instructions
- Cream butter until light and fluffy (1-2 minutes).
- Add both sugars and cream; mix for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until combined.
- Add the egg and vanilla until combined; scrape down the sides of the bowl.
- Combine flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the dry ingredients in two additions.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chocolate chunks by hand.
- Refrigerate dough for at least one hour or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).
- Remove cookie dough from the refrigerator.
- Scoop 1 heaping tablespoon of cookie dough and flatten into a thin bowl shape.
- Add ½ teaspoon of dulce de leche to the center of the dough.
- Wrap dough around dulce de leche, ensuring it’s fully enclosed.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-11 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar.
- If your dulce de leche is very thick, gently warm it for easier handling.
- Store baked cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days; freeze for longer storage.
