- 2 tbsp (30 ml) coconut oil
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) fresh popcorn kernels
- 2 tbsp (30 g) salted butter
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) dark chocolate chunks, chips, or grated, melted
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat 2 tbsp of coconut oil over medium heat. Add 1/2 cup of fresh popcorn kernels and cover the pot with a lid. Shake the pot occasionally to ensure even popping. Continue until the popping slows down, then remove from heat.
- In a separate saucepan, melt 2 tbsp of salted butter over medium heat. Allow it to foam and then turn a nutty brown color, watching carefully to avoid burning. Remove from heat immediately once browned.
- Drizzle the brown butter over the freshly popped popcorn, tossing to coat evenly.
- Melt 1/3 cup of dark chocolate chunks, chips, or grated chocolate in a microwave or double boiler until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the popcorn.
- Toss the popcorn gently to distribute the chocolate and brown butter evenly. Allow the chocolate to set before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh corn kernels for the best flavor and texture.
- Be careful when browning the butter, as it can burn quickly.
- Allow the chocolate to set before serving for less mess.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
