- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1/2 cup fresh popcorn kernels
- 2 tbsp salted butter
- 1/3 cup dark chocolate chunks, chips, or grated, melted
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat 2 tablespoons of coconut oil over medium heat. Add ½ cup of fresh popcorn kernels and cover the pot with a lid. Shake the pot occasionally to ensure even popping. Continue until the popping slows down, then remove from heat.
- In a separate saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of salted butter over medium heat. Allow it to foam and then turn a nutty brown color, watching carefully to avoid burning. Remove from heat immediately once browned.
- Drizzle the brown butter over the freshly popped popcorn, tossing to coat evenly.
- Melt 1/3 cup of dark chocolate chunks, chips, or grated chocolate in a microwave or double boiler until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the popcorn.
- Toss the popcorn gently to distribute the chocolate and brown butter evenly. Allow the chocolate to set before serving.
Notes
Use fresh corn kernels for the best flavor and texture. Be careful when browning the butter, as it can burn quickly. Allow the chocolate to set before serving for less mess. Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
