- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 3 very ripe bananas, mashed well
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour the bottom of a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the mashed bananas with the yogurt, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the banana mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chunks gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For best results, use very ripe bananas as they add more sweetness and moisture. You can store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
