Description

Sweet and savory collide in this ultimate breakfast grilled cheese. Wild blueberry preserves and creamy goat cheese make a magical morning treat.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick-cut bread (sourdough or brioche)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons wild blueberry preserves
  • 4 ounces goat cheese, sliced

Instructions

  1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Spread preserves evenly on the bread slices. Evenly place slices of cheese on the unbuttered side of two slices of bread. Top with the remaining slice of buttered bread.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat (approximately 375-400°F / 190-204°C).
  3. Place the sandwich, butter side down, in the skillet.
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until lightly toasted and the cheese melts.
  5. Remove from skillet and cut the sandwich in half, if desired.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For an even sweeter grilled cheese, use a jam with a higher sugar content.
  • If goat cheese is unavailable, substitute with cream cheese or mascarpone for a similar creamy texture.
  • To prevent sticking, use a non-stick skillet or lightly grease the skillet with additional butter or cooking spray.
