Scale
- 8 oz (227 g) fresh turkey breast
- 2-6 inch french baguettes
- 6 oz (170 g) fresh brussel sprouts
- 3 Tbsp mayo
- 2 Tbsp cider vinegar
- 2 slices cooked bacon
- 1 red pear
- 0.5 cups (118 ml) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1.5 tsp Bells Poultry seasoning
- 1 Tbsp Butter
- 2 tsp white sugar
- 1 tsp celery seed
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Place vinegar, sugar, pepper, and celery seed in a medium mixing bowl and mix until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add Brussels sprouts and mix. Allow to sit for a minimum of 15 minutes.
- On an oven-safe pan, place turkey in a single layer, top with cheddar cheese, and then top with chopped bacon.
- Place under the broiler to melt the cheese.
- Spread butter on sliced baguette and grill (flat side down) in a sauté pan until browned.
- Top the bottom of the bread with pear slices.
- Top with ½ of the turkey, bacon, and cheese from the broiler.
- Drain the sprouts and top the turkey with half of the sprouts.
- Combine Bell’s poultry seasoning with mayonnaise to make a mayo spread.
- Finish the sandwich with the mayo spread.
Notes
- For optimal pear flavor, use a ripe but firm pear. Avoid overly soft pears which may become mushy.
- If you don’t have a broiler, you can melt the cheese on the turkey in a skillet over medium-low heat.
- Leftover sandwiches can be wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
