Ingredients

- 2 1/2 ounces Suerte Reposado Tequila
- 1 whole (small ripe plum (pit removed and sliced))
- 4 large (fresh basil leaves (or 3 sliced of jalapeño if you’d prefer a spicy drink))
- juice of half of a lime
- maple syrup (to taste)
- 2 ounces sparkling water or ginger beer
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker or mason jar with a tight-fitting lid, muddle the plum and basil or jalapeño with the tequila.
- Add ice to the shaker, along with the lime juice and maple syrup, if desired. We like to add a splash of maple syrup if the plum we are using is not very sweet naturally. Start with a small amount and add more after you have shaken with ice and tasted it.
- Shake until the shaker is cold and strain into a fresh glass. Top with a splash of sparkling water or ginger beer and garnish with a slice of plum and basil leave or jalapeño slice.
